Perhaps I should've done a bit of research before accepting a gig with AIS recently. Patty sounded so nice down the phone! It seemed legit. And, they wanted to put me to work straight away! So, if you're looking for work, OF COURSE you're going to fall/go for it. My Monday thru Friday gig started on 11 April and lasted thru the 29th. 7.5 hours a day of actual work, plus supposedly getting paid for carpooling. Pay day is allegedly on the 10th and 25th, I was told after inquiring in an e-mail to Patty after the first week or so. She answered every question I had asked...except for the one I didn't ask and probably should've; does AIS withhold that first week's pay? I have no idea. But, I'm still waiting on it, as the 25th (of April) has come and gone and I'm still waiting on a paycheck. Meantime, Patty still e-mail and texts me new work opportunities if I want. I told her that I won't be doing any of that until I get paid for the first job. We'll see what happens next week. The 10th is 3 days out. Checks are mailed, she told me in the e-mail a couple weeks ago. But, from where? In hindsight, I should've been more inquisitive in paycheck conversations with another worker who has been there for years and even said she's received hers right at the job site in the past. I'll definitely be coming back to this page next weekend, at the latest, regardless how it goes.UPDATE: it looks like I'll be taking the advice of attorneys I've been in contact with who specialise in Employment Law and wage theft. FINAL EDIT: instead of going the attorney route, I filed a Wage Claim with the State Labor Relations Board last July (2016). I had my final hearing yesterday, which AIS didn't attend (they also skipped the conference hearing from last year), but, unlike last year's hearing, I wasn't fully prepared to prove my case. I brought printed e-mail correspondence and all my hours worked that I kept track of on my phone to the 2016 hearing, but wasn't asked if I had any additional material I'd care to submit other than what I filled out in the paperwork that day. That was last year. And, since I wasn't asked for any of that particular evidence, I'd long since gotten rid of it. So, OF COURSE I was asked yesterday if I had anything else I'd like to add other than my verbal testimony. I'm sitting there empty-handed and feeling like an idiot, and in disbelief that I was asked THIS year, but not LAST year about additional material to help prove my case. And, it certainly didn't help that I couldn't remember the owner's name, even though I had met her face-to-face at least once. Nor could I recall until after the hearing having filled out an I-9 or W-4. I honestly couldn't remember when I was asked during the hearing. And, lastly, just when I could've sworn I'd deleted all my daily record of hours worked from my phone, I took a look back to April 2016 - out of curiosity - and, wouldn't you know it, there was the final week's hours, which I hadn't deleted after all, for some reason. I was crushed. The final decision is due in writing within 15 days, and either party can file a dispute in court within 10 days from that. But, I was cautioned by the hearing officer that, for me, "it'd be just like starting over." And, even if I win a judgement, it's not like the state or AIS is going to cut me a cheque. So, either way I lose and they get away with it. All totaled unpaid wages and ensuing penalties: over $6K.

DO NOT APPLY HERE- THEY WILL NOT PAY YOU!!! To top it off they don't care the financial stress and obligations one is facing. Doesn't matter how hard you work and all the flexibility you have given them they WILL not compensate. Several former employees have filed a wage claim against them dating back from months October and November 2015. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
